作為一個(gè)專門研究認(rèn)知功能障礙的獨(dú)特論壇，癡呆和老年認(rèn)知障礙集中于阿爾茨海默病和帕金森病、亨廷頓舞蹈癥和其他神經(jīng)退行性疾病。該期刊選自精神病學(xué)、神經(jīng)心理學(xué)、臨床神經(jīng)學(xué)、形態(tài)學(xué)、生理學(xué)、遺傳分子生物學(xué)、病理學(xué)、生物化學(xué)、免疫學(xué)、藥理學(xué)和藥劑學(xué)等多個(gè)相關(guān)學(xué)科。重點(diǎn)是公布動(dòng)物研究的研究結(jié)果，并輔以臨床和治療經(jīng)驗(yàn)，以全面評(píng)價(jià)這一領(lǐng)域。

As a unique forum devoted exclusively to the study of cognitive dysfunction, ?Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disordersí concentrates on Alzheimerís and Parkinsonís disease, Huntingtonís chorea and other neurodegenerative diseases. The journal draws from diverse related research disciplines such as psychogeriatrics, neuropsychology, clinical neurology, morphology, physiology, genetic molecular biology, pathology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology and pharmaceutics. Strong emphasis is placed on the publication of research findings from animal studies which are complemented by clinical and therapeutic experience to give an overall appreciation of the field.
