《地球微生物學(xué)雜志》是一個統(tǒng)一的研究和評論地球微生物學(xué)和微生物生物地球化學(xué)文章的載體。每年出版一到兩期專門討論特定地球微生物學(xué)主題的特刊。一般文章討論微生物對地質(zhì)上重要的礦物和元素的轉(zhuǎn)化，包括在海洋和淡水環(huán)境、土壤、礦床和巖層中發(fā)生的微生物轉(zhuǎn)化，以及這些轉(zhuǎn)化對環(huán)境生物地球化學(xué)的影響。在此背景下，細(xì)菌和古生菌、酵母菌、絲狀真菌、微藻、原生生物及其病毒作為地球化學(xué)試劑的功能進(jìn)行了研究。文章可能會強(qiáng)調(diào)特定的重要地質(zhì)微生物的性質(zhì)及其活動，或地質(zhì)微生物活動的環(huán)境和地質(zhì)后果。

Geomicrobiology Journal is a unified vehicle for research and review articles in geomicrobiology and microbial biogeochemistry. One or two special issues devoted to specific geomicrobiological topics are published each year. General articles deal with microbial transformations of geologically important minerals and elements, including those that occur in marine and freshwater environments, soils, mineral deposits and rock formations, and the environmental biogeochemical impact of these transformations. In this context, the functions of Bacteria and Archaea, yeasts, filamentous fungi, micro-algae, protists, and their viruses as geochemical agents are examined.Articles may stress the nature of specific geologically important microorganisms and their activities, or the environmental and geological consequences of geomicrobiological activity.
