從國際角度看，水產養殖研究每年出版12次，專門針對水產養殖許多不同領域的所有工作和研究的研究和參考需求。該雜志定期發表有關淡水、咸水和海洋水產養殖的應用或科學研究論文。它涵蓋了所有與人類消費直接或間接相關的水生生物，包括植物區系和動物區系。該雜志還包括評論文章，簡短的交流和技術論文。特別鼓勵年輕科學家根據自己的研究提交簡短的通信。

International in perspective, Aquaculture Research is published 12 times a year and specifically addresses research and reference needs of all working and studying within the many varied areas of aquaculture. The Journal regularly publishes papers on applied or scientific research relevant to freshwater, brackish, and marine aquaculture. It covers all aquatic organisms, floristic and faunistic, related directly or indirectly to human consumption. The journal also includes review articles, short communications and technical papers. Young scientists are particularly encouraged to submit short communications based on their own research.
