《神經(jīng)遺傳學雜志》發(fā)表涉及遺傳和分子神經(jīng)生物學的論文。這包括影響神經(jīng)發(fā)育(模式形成和細胞分化)和功能(生理、神經(jīng)化學和行為)的基因和遺傳變異的研究。我們鼓勵提交從微生物(如細菌和草履蟲)到后生動物的神經(jīng)遺傳學研究。后者傳統(tǒng)上包括線蟲、果蠅、老鼠和人類，特別適合于神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)的遺傳和分子研究。但我們也鼓勵提交包括對任何允許應(yīng)用遺傳變異或分子遺傳材料分析神經(jīng)生物學現(xiàn)象的生物體進行研究的報告——認識到這些方法正在擴展到物種，如斑馬魚，其范圍超出了更經(jīng)典的系統(tǒng)。除了原創(chuàng)文章，簡短的交流和評論也是受歡迎的(參見“作者指南”)。我們也發(fā)表一些摘要，特別是(但僅限于)那些與定期舉行的神經(jīng)遺傳學會議相關(guān)的摘要。

The Journal of Neurogenetics publishes papers involving genetic and molecular neurobiology. This covers studies of genes and genetic variants in that influence neural development (pattern formation and cell differentiation) and function (physiology, neurochemistry, and behavior). We encourage submission of neurogenetic investigations performed on organisms ranging from microbes (such as bacteria and paramecia) to metazoans. The latter traditionally encompass nematodes, Drosophila, mouse, and humans, which have been particularly suited to genetic and molecular studies of the nervous system. But we also encourage submission of reports involving studies performed on any organism that permits the application of genetic variations or molecular-genetic materials to analysis of neurobiological phenomena--recognizing that these approaches are expanding to species, such as zebrafish, ranging beyond the more classical systems. In addition to original articles, short communications and reviews are welcome (see "Instructions for Authors"). We also publish groups of abstracts, especially (but limited to) those associated with neurogenetic conferences that occur on a regular basis.
