這本雜志致力于應(yīng)用古生物學(xué)來解決地層學(xué)、沉積學(xué)、古地理學(xué)、古生態(tài)學(xué)和古生物學(xué)等廣泛分支學(xué)科的地質(zhì)問題。每一期都有幾篇全面的文章，以及許多短篇論文、書評、相關(guān)新聞和公告。

This journal is devoted to application of paleontology in solving geologic problems in a broad spectrum of subdisciplines including stratigraphy, sedimentology, paleogeography, paleoecology, and paleobiology. Each issue features several comprehensive articles as well as numerous short papers, book reviews, relevant news, and announcements.
