《美國外科雜志》是一本同行評審的雜志，專為執(zhí)行腹部、癌癥、血管、頭頸部、乳房、結(jié)直腸和其他形式手術(shù)的普通外科醫(yī)生設(shè)計(jì)。AJS是五個(gè)主要外科學(xué)會(huì)的官方刊物，出版其官方論文以及獨(dú)立提交的臨床研究、社論、評論、簡要報(bào)告、信件和書評。《美國外科雜志》是西南外科大會(huì)、北太平洋外科協(xié)會(huì)、外科教育協(xié)會(huì)、女外科醫(yī)生協(xié)會(huì)、美國乳腺外科醫(yī)生協(xié)會(huì)的官方出版物。

The American Journal of Surgery is a peer-reviewed journal designed for the general surgeon who performs abdominal, cancer, vascular, head and neck, breast, colorectal, and other forms of surgery. AJS is the official journal of five major surgical societies and publishes their official papers as well as independently submitted clinical studies, editorials, reviews, brief reports, correspondence and book reviews. The American Journal of Surgery is the Official Publication of: The Southwestern Surgical Congress, The North Pacific Surgical Association, The Association for Surgical Education, The Association of Women Surgeons, The American Society of Breast Surgeons.
