《Pedosphere-A Peer-Revieved International Journal》（ISSN 1002-0160；CN 32-1315/P）成立于1991年，由Elsevier B.V.和Science Press以英文（不含中文版）兩個(gè)月出版。土壤層由中國(guó)科學(xué)院土壤科學(xué)研究所和中國(guó)土壤科學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)共同贊助，與中國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)、南京農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)、華南農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)和浙江大學(xué)合作。主編沈仁芳教授，中國(guó)土壤科學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)，中國(guó)科學(xué)院土壤科學(xué)研究所所長(zhǎng)。土壤層歡迎世界各地的科學(xué)家在與及時(shí)、高質(zhì)量的原始研究成果有關(guān)的廣泛主題下提交意見，特別是在涉及環(huán)境科學(xué)、生態(tài)學(xué)、農(nóng)業(yè)、生物科學(xué)、地球科學(xué)、林業(yè)等的整個(gè)土壤科學(xué)研究領(lǐng)域的最新成果和進(jìn)展。主要發(fā)表原始研究論文，以及一些評(píng)論、小評(píng)、簡(jiǎn)短的交流和專題；特別關(guān)注的領(lǐng)域包括土壤物理學(xué)、土壤化學(xué)、土壤生物學(xué)和生物化學(xué)、土壤肥力和植物營(yíng)養(yǎng)、土壤資源和利用、土壤礦物學(xué)、土壤環(huán)境和生態(tài)、土壤和水資源。R保護(hù)；森林、牧場(chǎng)和濕地土壤；土壤鹽分和管理；土壤和植物分析和技術(shù)；土壤氣體和全球變化。提交給《土壤層》雜志的論文必須由編輯委員會(huì)（由來自24個(gè)國(guó)家的42名外國(guó)和21名中國(guó)全球知名土壤科學(xué)家組成）和由數(shù)千名國(guó)際邀請(qǐng)專家組成的科學(xué)審查小組（在接受公眾之前）進(jìn)行雙盲深度同行審查。。在大多數(shù)國(guó)際重要的相關(guān)數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)和摘要中，對(duì)土壤層進(jìn)行了提取/索引，如現(xiàn)有內(nèi)容、科學(xué)引文索引擴(kuò)展、劍橋科學(xué)文摘、生物科學(xué)、化學(xué)文摘、Scopus、Viniti文摘期刊（P）、日本科學(xué)技術(shù)信息中心（CBST）、生物文摘。TS、cab摘要、sciencedirect、elsevier biobase、geobase、asci、生態(tài)摘要、污染摘要、環(huán)境科學(xué)和污染管理、環(huán)境百科全書和目錄、土壤和肥料、水資源摘要、灌溉和排水摘要、agricola、agris、agrindex、georef、地質(zhì)書目和索引，G地理文摘、地質(zhì)文摘、地質(zhì)力學(xué)文摘、草地和飼料文摘、植物科學(xué)的最新進(jìn)展、農(nóng)林學(xué)文摘、田間作物文摘、林業(yè)文摘、園藝文摘、國(guó)際發(fā)展文摘、玉米文摘、線蟲學(xué)文摘、植物生長(zhǎng)調(diào)節(jié)劑文摘、水稻文摘麥秸、小麥、大麥和小麥摘要、中國(guó)科學(xué)文摘、CSCD、CSTPCD、CJCR、CNKI和CAJCED。迄今為止，來自美國(guó)、英國(guó)、法國(guó)、澳大利亞、加拿大、德國(guó)、西班牙、意大利、荷蘭、新西蘭、以色列、日本、波蘭、印度、巴西、泰國(guó)、巴基斯坦、希臘、敘利亞和孟加拉國(guó)等30多個(gè)國(guó)家的作者在土壤層發(fā)表的論文占總數(shù)的30%以上。此外，該雜志發(fā)表的文章中90%以上屬于國(guó)際和國(guó)家科學(xué)基金會(huì)資助的研究項(xiàng)目。土壤圈受眾：土壤科學(xué)、環(huán)境科學(xué)、生態(tài)學(xué)、生物科學(xué)、地球科學(xué)、農(nóng)業(yè)、林業(yè)等領(lǐng)域的科技研究人員和工人以及大學(xué)、大學(xué)教師和學(xué)生。
